The BWF Profiles and BWF Thermoforms Material Compendium

Whether light-directing, light-diffusing, light-conducting or light-reflecting – even in combination with special fire protection requirements – we are your partner in the selection and processing of the suitable material!

For more than half a century, BWF Profiles and BWF Thermoforms have been producing plastic profiles, tubes, sheets, optical foils, thermoformed parts and injection moulded parts from thermoplastics. In addition to our stock and standard range, we also manufacture customised products from a wide variety of raw materials on a large scale.

BWF Profiles and BWF Thermoforms exclusively use high-quality granulates and sheet material from the world’s leading premium manufacturers. This guarantees consistency in material properties and the highest quality.

Your benefits at a glance

  • Use of high-quality granulates to ensure the best quality for your products
  • Use of our own material mixtures with a wide range of effective properties
  • Processing of all common thermoplastics

Fire protection materials
by BWF Profiles

BWF Profiles uses numerous proprietary material compounds for applications with very strict fire protection requirements (e.g. for rail vehicles). We have already achieved unique successes in the development of these fire protection materials: For almost every common European and international standard, we have a suitable material that has been tested and certified in cooperation with accredited fire protection institutes.

BWF ecoRAIL®, a polycarbonate model that meets all well-known European fire protection standards and exhibits significantly better long-term stability than all standard flame-protection models, deserves special mention.

Materials for the thermoforming process
BWF Thermoforms processes all common thermoplastics

  • PS (Polystyrol)
  • SB (Styrol Butadien)
  • PC (Polycarbonat)
  • PMMA (Acryl)
  • Acryl-Satiné (specially developed material from BWF Profiles)
  • Satiné-Blend (specially developed material from BWF Profiles)
  • ABS (Acrylnitril Butadien Styrol)
  • ASA (Acrylester-Styrol-Acrylnitril)
  • PP (Polypropylen)
  • PE (Polyethylen)
  • PETG (Polyethylenterephthalat with Glycol)
  • MCPET (Microcellulares Polyehylenterephtalat)
  • BWF reflectWHITE (highly reflective sheet in PMMA or PC)

BWF REGRIND
Sustainable resource utilisation at BWF Profiles

BWF Profiles always ensures highly efficient resource recycling. This means our production waste is reprocessed into recyclable raw materials, which then flow back into the life cycles of new plastic products.
We are thereby not only reducing our production and material waste, but also making a valuable contribution to the sustainable production of plastic products. Thanks to our in-house reprocessing, we achieve an almost identical surface finish to that of virgin material.
