#MyStory - Georg Fock tells his BWF Group story
My name is Georg Fock, I am 53 years old and work here at BWF Envirotec as Director Global Engineering. In this job, I am responsible for all location expansions, including the related production construction and mechanical engineering, and I look after the locations in terms of expansions and technical issues.
When I look back on my history, I see a past that I helped shape and so it will be again for the future.
This is my story at the BWF Group and my 18 years here are just the beginning ...
My start at the BWF Group...
I came to the BWF Group via a newspaper advertisement. The job advertisement said "For projects engineering services and in brackets "a bit abroad". It was clearly more abroad, to say that in advance. My predecessor retired and handed over his job to me.
I really enjoyed the interview back then. It was straightforwardly, honest and professional. Although I openly admitted that my English skills are very much in need of improvement and that I had never been abroad before, they put a lot of trust in me right from the start that I could still manage it, and I did.
Learning by Doing
Overall, you can say that I have grown with the BWF Group. I have familiarised myself with the textile and mechanical engineering sector and have also got on well in every country. The most difficult thing is always the human factor, not so much the culture. I have experienced a lot in the different countries. In one hall project, for example, the roof of a production building was accidentally put on the wrong way round. Everyone was very happy that they managed to do it so well in terms of time. When I arrived and saw the result, I didn't know how to tell them gently.

From day one, I have been responsible for big projects and my ideas and suggestions have been heard and taken into account and I have had a lot of freedom in my decisions. When I look back on my history, I see a past that I helped shape and it will be the same again for the future. That's why I love being at BWF Group and I hope the joy of investing will continue.
